Nordic AI Research, Education, and Innovation Partnership
The Nordic countries—Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden—share deep cultural, historical, and political ties which have fostered strong inter-country relationships. Together, they form a region with a high standard of living, comprehensive welfare systems, and a solid commitment to democracy and human rights.

Each of the five Nordic countries is home to thriving AI ecosystems, comprising activities such as entrepreneurship, education, capacity building, and applied and theoretical research. Within these landscapes, NORA, P1, WASP, FCAI and CADIA distinguish themselves as research-anchored, internationally-facing AI initiatives.

The parties aim to focus on the unique advantages the Nordic region brings to the global AI landscape, positioning the Nordic region as a visible and powerful AI region.

Nordic Machine Intelligence Journal
Nordic Machine Intelligence (NMI) is a peer-reviewed, diamond open-access journal that publishes a broad range of scholarly work in artificial intelligence (AI). While NMI's primary goal is to disseminate high-quality research, and thus welcomes contributions from researchers worldwide, a secondary objective is to serve as a central forum for Nordic research communities, emphasizing themes of particular relevance to AI within the Nordic context. Beyond research articles, NMI aspires to feature a diverse array of discussion and opinion pieces that address Nordic opportunities and challenges in AI research.
